Aveda and Green Mountain Energy Co. teamed up to promote pollution-free electricity in April with the generation of 60,000 kilowatt-hours of wind power. Executives said this offset more than 44 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. Aveda also sold compact fluorescent light bulbs and donated proceeds to the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, and offered “Appointments for the Earth” in salons in April.
